MAPLE RUN KENNEL IS LOCATED IN RURAL CENTRAL MAINE, WE HAVE BEEN RAISING HIGH QUALITY MID-CONTENT WOLFDOGS (WOLF HYBRIDS) SINCE 2002, BREEDING FOR IDEAL TEMPERMENTS AND BEAUTY.
THERE ARE MANY ADVANTAGES IN HAVING A MID-CONTENT WOLFDOG VS. HAVING A HIGH CONTENT:
In all honesty mid content animals are probably better companions than those of higher content. This group of animals are the ambassadors of the wolfdog world. First, a mid content is easier to manage, and is more forgiving if you make a mistake. A mid content animal is often more friendly, easier to socialize and take to public places.
Our mid content wolfdogs are more easily trainable, more adaptable to their situation, more suitable for being raised with children, easier to contain, and so on... they have more of the 'doggy' behaviours that man has modified canines for, for centuries; to make them "fit in" better in modern society (and with minimal effort on the part of the owners).
What is a Wolfdog (or Wolf Hybrid)?
A wolfdog is a dog with recent wolf heritage. That is, a wolfdog has a pure wolf ancestor within the last five generations. (That would be the wolfdog’s great-great-great grandparent.)
Note: Though many people still use the term "wolf hybrid," this is not an accurate term. A ‘hybrid” is the offspring of two different species. Following reclassification of the dog by taxonomists in 1993, the domestic dog (canis lupus familiaris) is actually viewed as a domestic variant of the gray wolf (canis lupus). Yes, even your Chihuahua.
